Kari Sawin
Speech pathology
Hello! My name is Kari and I am so excited to be teaching with Sabra!
A bit about me: I am a licensed speech-language pathologist with 10 years of experience. My experience includes work with people of all ages, from birth to elderly adults. Most notably, I have spent the last 8 years working with school-aged children. There, I have found a love for literacy and how it can help improve performance within the classroom, and beyond. I have also found a love for teaching life skills, which can include anything from counting money, to ordering food at a restaurant, to going grocery shopping, to cooking something!
I live in the Northeast United States (Massachusetts to be exact) with my husband and 2 young children, ages 2 and 4. I believe that each learner is unique. Each learner has the ability to improve themselves, their work, their literacy, their life skills and their language! I also believe in setting expectations for a fun and respectful environment.
My 4 expectations for every learner are to:
1) Be Respectful
2) Stay on Task
3)Try Your Best
4) Have FUN
That's it! I hope to see you in one of my language-based literacy classes, or learning a life skill.
See you soon! Kari
