Sonja Welch, LPC, PhDc

Sonja is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and has been in the counseling field for over ten years. She holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nyack College, Alliance Graduate School of Counseling. She is in the dissertation stage of a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision program at the University of the Cumberlands. Sonja is also an Advanced Clinical Supervisor (ACS) and a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMSII), as well as holds many other certifications and certificates, including life coaching. Sonja has a thriving private practice which she recently expanded into a group practice. Additionally, Sonja has served in pastoral ministry for over 21 years alongside her husband, Ken.

Sonja likes crocheting, beading, reading, painting, long walks on the beach, and hiking in the mountains in her spare time. Sonja and her husband Ken have been married for 37 years. Together, they have four adult sons, two fur babies (a cat – Midnight, and a dog – Zoe), and three grand Husky fur babies, all who keep her life pleasantly busy.
