Description: In Drawing Fundamentals, students will learn the appropriate use of drawing materials, as well as different methods of working with pencil and paper. They will develop their observation skills to better understand how to faithfully draw what they see by understanding important drawing principles and the vocabulary to communicate them.

Skills learned: Control of materials, correct drawing vocabulary, developed observation and communication skills, understanding of drawing methods and techniques, ability to draw from observation, reference images, and imagination.

Supplies Required: 2H, HB, 4B, 6B pencil, pencil sharpener, large eraser, kneaded eraser, 18x24” drawing paper pad, 9x12” or 11x14” sketchbook of drawing, sketch, or mixed media paper, 18” cork backed metal ruler
